Furthering our vision.

WHO WE ARE

Leading the charge in Namibia’s energy transformation with innovation, expertise, and sustainability at our core.

The presence of petroleum system elements and processes in our blocks in the Lüderitz and Orange Basins strongly suggests that the recent discoveries in the deepwater Orange Basin—such as the Venus, Graff, La Rona, Jonker, Lesedi, and Mopane wells—are only the beginning of a vast resource yet to be uncovered in Namibia’s offshore. These discoveries lay the foundation to transform Namibia into one of West Africa’s major oil provinces.

As President of Namibia Energy Corporation (NEC), along with the leadership of Dr. Wagner Peres and the backing of a strong revenue base and the extensive experience of our team and partners, I am confident that we are not only a formidable contender for offshore acreage but also the best-suited entity to undertake exploration and production in Namibian offshore blocks. My commitment is to create job opportunities and transfer a wide range of oil industry expertise to the local Namibian workforce, contributing to the country’s sustainable energy future.

Dr. Marcio Rocha Mello is a globally recognized leader in the petroleum industry, celebrated for his visionary leadership and groundbreaking contributions. He established Petrobras's first Center of Excellence (CEGEQ) and pioneered Pre-Salt exploration. As the founder and first president of the Brazilian Association of Petroleum Geologists (ABGP) and former President of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Latin America Section, Dr. Marcio has set new standards in geological research with over 500 published articles and professional excellence.

A world-renowned oil geologist with 45 years of experience in petroleum geology and geochemistry, Dr. Marcio's expertise and innovative approach have earned him prestigious accolades from the AAPG and ABGP. His commitment to advancing the industry led to the creation of HRT Petroleum and HRT Participações, which achieved the largest IPO in Brazil in 2010 and evolved into PRIO S.A., a major player in the Brazilian energy sector. Notably, under his leadership, HRT Participações became the first company to discover oil in deepwater offshore Namibia.

Demonstrating his strategic foresight, Dr. Marcio founded BPS to unite top exploration and production professionals, providing premier E&P services in Brazil and Namibia. Building on his extensive experience, he has now founded NEC (Namibia Energy Corporation), continuing to drive the industry forward with a comprehensive package of drilling, exploration expertise, technical E&P capabilities, geodata knowledge, and consulting services from exploration to production.
